The world of forensic science is both intriguing and enigmatic, and on Saturday, January 20, 2024, from 5:00 to 6:00 pm, we have the privilege of hosting an eminent speaker who has dedicated her career to unraveling mysteries through the lens of forensic science. Join us for a captivating guest lecture by Ms. Madona Mathew, Assistant Professor at Usha Martin University, as she takes us on a journey through the Bugtime Chronicles, exploring the fascinating realm of Forensic Entomology.

Speaker Profile: Ms. Madona Mathew

Ms. Madona Mathew, an Assistant Professor at Usha Martin University, is a dynamic and passionate Forensic Science enthusiast. Her expertise lies in the fascinating intersection of Forensic Biology, Entomology, and Criminal Psychology. With a profound dedication to unraveling mysteries through scientific inquiry, Ms. Mathew has become a prominent figure in the field.

Currently serving as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Forensic Science at Usha Martin University, Jharkhand, Ms. Mathew is also pursuing her Ph.D. at BIT Mesra in the Biotechnology and Bioengineering department. Her academic journey is marked by a diverse range of experiences, including her prior role as an Assistant Professor at Srinivasan College of Arts and Science, Perambalur, Tamil Nadu.

Ms. Mathew's commitment to advancing forensic science extends beyond the classroom. As a writer at heart, she served as the Assistant Editor of Clue4 Evidence News for 1.5 years, honing her skills in scientific communication. Her scholarly contributions are reflected in the 15+ papers she has published in both International and National Journals. Moreover, she actively participates in conferences and workshops, contributing to the academic discourse in her field.

Ms. Mathew's journey into forensic science was further enriched through internships at prestigious institutions. In 2020, she completed an internship with the Central Forensic Science Laboratory (CFSL) in Hyderabad, followed by an internship with Clue 4 Evidence lab in Bengaluru in 2021. These experiences have deepened her practical understanding of forensic processes and methodologies.

Her educational background showcases a multidisciplinary approach, having earned a Bachelor's Degree in Zoology, Chemistry, and Botany. Additionally, Ms. Mathew holds a Diploma Degree in Journalism & Mass Communication from Mahatma Gandhi University, Kerala. Notably, she has contributed to the field of journalism, interning with Kerala's leading newspapers, 'Malayala Manorama' and 'Mangalam,' as a report-writing intern in 2017 and a news reporting intern in 2018, respectively.
